Key Role Challenges To identify and implement website improvements that will have a positive impact on the UX and Sportsafe’s eCommerce and lead conversion rates. To integrate data from various back-end services and databases and ensure that all software and integrations are up to date. To assist in uploading new content to the website and updating the existing content. To work closely with other departments within the company to improve business processes and increase customer satisfaction. To work to tight deadlines to meet the company’s business objectives. To stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities. The Role As a talented full-stack web developer, you will be responsible for the coding, innovative design, and layout of our website. You will create new website layouts and user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices and integrate data from various back-end services and databases. You will be part of a growing, highly skilled, and motivated team, and your role will be interesting and varied. You will be working in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be conscientious, focused, and capable of working under your own initiative, without being micromanaged. You will be reporting to the Marketing & E-Commerce Manager and developing/maintaining the company’s website as well as a wide range of web-based systems that help all aspects of the business streamline their workflows to make their roles easier and more efficient. Responsibilities To include but not limited: Meet with the Marketing & E-Commerce Manager to determine website needs and follow up with regular conversations and updates. Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices. Create website layouts with computer or handmade sketches to organise information and allow for intuitive usage. Build websites to agreed specifications by writing code, designing pages and widgets, and incorporating graphics and video elements. Determine the best plug-ins and applications to provide websites with new features and functionality and installs them accordingly. Test Sportsafe’s website using a variety of browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox; and debugs, as necessary. Maintain fluency in one or more programming languages, including HTML/CSS, PHP and JavaScript. Regularly check in with the Marketing & E-Commerce Manager to assess website development progress and determine necessary updates or website repairs. Assist the Marketing & E-Commerce Manager with publishing content by proofreading, editing, and posting text and graphics. Maintain Sportsafe’s websites by checking for errors, broken links, and hacking attempts. Develop knowledge of website accessibility standards and legal requirements. Assess website security and install updated software to ensure that Sportsafe’s websites and client data remain secure. Assist in the building and scheduling of email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp and Access Cloud CRM. Minimum Experience required At least 3 years of web development experience. Excellent front-end development skills including HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript and PHP. Experience completing eCommerce projects. Experience with premium themes and page builders. Basic Photoshop skills for image optimisation. Basic Illustrator skills for SVG and logo work. Basic SEO knowledge. A strong working knowledge of Mailchimp or another email marketing platform is required. Ability to perform WordPress / Plugin updates. Experience in building and maintaining WooCommerce online stores. Sound understanding of fundamental UX & UI principles (ability to take a design and build out further templates).
