Position Description
Working closely with the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for checking drawings & designs for accuracy and completeness prior to release.
Your primary responsibility will be checking component and assembly drawings before release, performing detailed dimensional and bill of material checks.
You will check and mark up drawings to BS8888 as required using Adobe Acrobat and liaise with design engineers and dimensional control groups as needed.
Work with Engineering and Design teams to resolve discrepancies and record key checking metrics using MS Excel.
Generate and present material to customers and key internal and external stakeholders as required.
Assist in the generation and implementation of Design Office procedures & guidelines.
Requirements
A degree in mechanical, automotive, electrical, or aerospace engineering or the ability to show capability through proven experience.
Minimum 3 years experience in design in the specialist automotive or motorsport industry or transferable experience to an advanced engineering environment.
You will have a good understanding of engineering and be able to adapt to mechanical, composite and electrical systems as required.
Good knowledge of BS8888 and the theory and application of GD&T, literacy in Siemens NX and Teamcenter, and working knowledge of CATIA V5 would be beneficial.
Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software, e.g. Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to work with a level of independence, respond quickly to issues, and maintain departmental standards.
Additional Information
Based in Oxford, this is a Hybrid role requiring 2 days on-site, with a rolling 3-month contract.
