Mead Open Farm Day Nursery is a 96 place day nursery based on site at the award winning Mead Open Farm. We focus on nature based play, and outdoor learning. We follow a child led curiosity approach to children’s development.
Due to continued success, we are expanding and are looking for full time, Qualified and Unqualified Field Based Practitioners to join our Nursery & Pre School teams traveling between our South East based nursery settings.

This exciting role is unique and different. You will get to work in lots of different environments, whilst still being employed on a full time position. As you are essentially covering across all sites, you will not have key person responsibilities as part of this position.
We are looking for someone who is happy to “muck in”…. From playing with the children, to helping prepare snacks, tidying areas, creating new play zones… The role is so varied, there’s no time to get bored!!
Responsibilities and Duties
* To support the day to day responsibility for the efficient running of the setting facility.
* To support your colleagues and work as part of a team in providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children. (Ages range from 6 weeks to 13 years dependent on setting).
* To assist in the development of an attractive stimulating range of equipment, activities and displays relevant to the age and needs of the children in the setting, which encourage independence, self motivation and eagerness to learn.
* To treat information of matters relating to the work within the setting as confidential.
* To ensure the highest standards of safety, hygiene and welfare whilst maintaining adequate supervision of the conduct of the children attending the setting.
* To ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
* To help support the management team to ensure that the Ofsted standards including EYFS is followed at all times.
* To support the management team in striving to deliver an outstanding setting.
* Any other duties that may be required.
Qualifications and Skills
While being flexible in regards to qualifications, we are looking for someone special… We are looking for someone with a natural passion and ability to work with children. (The one thing we can’t teach!)
You will be hard working and motivated to hit the ground running and add value to our fun and hard working teams. You will thrive in a busy environment, and always be on hand with new ideas and activities. Ideally you will have experience in a similar role working with children aged 0-5 years. You must be available full time, 40 hours per week. Our nurseries are open from 7:30am-6:30pm, so shift patterns will be between these hours.
Due to the nature of this position, and the travel between sites, a full UK driving licence and own transport is essential. As a part of the package for the successful candidates, we will offer a mileage incentive and travel time is included in your working hours.
