Key responsibilities
To empower the B&Q Commercial Team with intelligence, tools, and advanced analysis, enabling strategic delivery of superior products at optimal prices for our customers. Facilitating commercial negotiations, this role also provides meticulous governance and tracking for stakeholders, ensuring precision and excellence in vendor-related initiatives.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
* Analytical Reporting: Generate advanced analytical reports to enhance cost price and rebate negotiations.
* Buying Progress Tracking: Oversee buying progress to optimize vendor income delivery.
* Commercial Metrics Tracking: Track pivotal commercial metrics, including VBA contract progress and cost price movement.
* Vendor Risk Management & Performance Reporting: Champion vendor risk management governance through meticulous reporting and database maintenance. Report on vendor performance and instigate proactive measures for continuous improvement.
* Strategic Governance: Exercise strategic governance and support new activities within the Commercial team.
* Commercial Collaboration: Collaborate with the wider Kingfisher group on intricate commercial collaboration projects.
* Stakeholder Training & Support: Deliver expert training, support, and foster robust relationships with stakeholders in the Commercial team.
* Leadership Support: Support the Commercial leadership team with advanced reporting, business analyses, and refined vendor communications.
Key Business Relationships:
* Buying Teams: Cultivate close collaborations with Buying teams to support the overarching vendor strategy.
* Commercial Categories: Form strategic partnerships with other categories within Commercial to drive business-wide and cross-category objectives.
* Finance Business Partners: Collaborate closely with Finance Business Partners to integrate financial considerations into buying processes.
* Commercial Development Team: Work synergistically within the Commercial Development team to respond to and refine requirements for range and space change activities.
* Supply Chain & Logistics: Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain & Logistics function to optimize processes.
* Legal Team: Act as the lead liaison between the Commercial team and the Legal team to ensure legal compliance, risk mitigation, and integration of legal considerations into commercial activities.
Required skills & experience
* Commercial/Business Analyst Experience: Demonstrated success in similar roles.
* Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & Power BI, capable of deriving strategic insights from complex datasets.
* Analytical & Planning Skills: Exceptional abilities for senior-level, data-driven decision-making.
* Communication Skills: Outstanding at presenting and conveying complex insights effectively.
* Proactive Challenge: Willingness to challenge existing practices constructively, contributing to strategic improvements.
