Transport Fleet & Compliance Manager Hull £40,000 - £45,000 Company Car Monday – Friday, Days A forward-thinking logistics operator is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead the performance, compliance, and cost-efficiency of its vehicle fleet. Based in Hull and reporting to the UK & Ireland Operations Manager, this is a hands-on and strategic role ideal for someone with technical expertise and a passion for maintaining high standards across fleet operations. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of vehicle maintenance, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle management. With a key focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control, this role will involve close collaboration with both internal teams and external maintenance providers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in ensuring the fleet operates to the highest standards, while identifying opportunities for improvement, sustainability, and innovation. The Benefits; Salary £40,000 - £45,000 Company car Pension: 5% matched (rising to 8% after 2 years) 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays Option to purchase up to 5 additional holidays per year Employee Assistance Programme Access to a benefits platform for shopping and holiday discounts The Candidate; CPC in Road Transport Management (National & International) Strong experience managing commercial vehicle fleets, including maintenance, procurement, and compliance A background within the tanker or bulk liquid transportation sector is highly advantageous Technical knowledge of vehicle systems and repair procedures, with the confidence to challenge providers Solid understanding of O Licence and Traffic Commissioner requirements Experience managing fleet budgets and cost-saving strategies Familiarity with telematics, fleet systems, and green fleet initiatives Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead continuous improvement projects Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities Knowledge of health & safety practices within fleet and transport operations Duties and Responsibilities; Ensure full compliance with O Licence regulations and Traffic Commissioner standards Manage vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules to ensure legal and safety requirements are met Oversee fleet performance and minimise downtime through proactive planning and monitoring Act as point of contact with DVSA and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues Audit external maintenance providers and enforce service level agreements Support procurement, vehicle specification, and lifecycle planning Lead cost-control initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews Implement fleet technologies and telematics to drive efficiency Provide technical guidance across the business and support training in fleet compliance and safety Oversee accident investigations and apply corrective actions aligned with health & safety policies Stay current with industry trends, new vehicle technology, and regulatory updates If you have Transport Fleet Management experience and would like to be considered for this opportunity, please apply via the link.
