Role: Residential Childcare Support Worker

Location: Bournemouth and surrounding areas
Pay rate: £11.55 per hour, increasing to £12.12 post-probation with relevant NVQ certification. Sleep-in rate at £55 per sleeping shift
Full and part-time hours: Contracts offered as 16 or 37 hours per week, plus overtime opportunities. There are 2-3 additional sleeping shifts per week for full-time workers.
Roster: 3 to 4 week rolling roster to include some weekends and Bank holidays

About the Role
Whether full-time or part-time, becoming a Residential Childcare Support Worker will see you perform a vital role in our children's lives, working as part of a team and acting as a trusted parental figure for looked-after children.
Your responsibilities include:
* Building strong, positive relationships with children who have had difficult backgrounds and experiences
* Supporting their educational and emotional development
* Planning and co-ordinating engaging and fun activities

About you
To succeed as a Residential Childcare Support Worker, we’re looking for candidates who are:
* Dedicated to child safeguarding
* Empathetic and effective communicators with a passion for working with children
* Resilient and patient, capable of handling challenging behaviours
* Proactive and creative in activity planning
* Capable of practical ‘life skills’ including cooking, cleaning and good home management
* Detail-oriented and competent users of IT, to ensure that every child’s needs are met and documented in line with regulatory expectations and standards
Essential must haves
A valid UK driving licence, proximity to Bournemouth, Ferndown, Ringwood and a willingness to pursue relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
