Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on skills/experience, plus competitive 12% pension benefit
Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata in year 1, increasing by 1 day p/a to 28 days

We are looking for a Finance Project Assistant to join our Finance Team in Cambridge. In this role you will contribute to BirdLife’s work by supporting the Finance Business Partners with transactional finance tasks, the maintenance of financial records, entering projects budgets, updating forecasts and preparing journals for ERP.
How you will do this:
* Entering ERP project budget and work orders on ERP as advised by Finance Business Partners
* Checking the full list of projects and awards on ERP for completeness and accuracy.
* Updating project forecasts on ERP using the appropriate templates.
* Assisting with audit preparation - checking transactions and documentation.
* Maintaining financial systems including coding and filing financial records.
* Attaching contracts and budgets templates for projects on ERP.
* Preparing journal entry migration templates.
* Assisting with bank reconciliations.
* Providing cover for accounts payables and accounts receivables finance officers on data entry tasks.
Ideally you will have:
* An Accounting qualification or working towards gaining one will be an advantage.
* Good attention to detail, and discretion with sensitive information.
* Ability to work to deadlines and to organise work in a logical manner.
* High levels of numeracy with excellent attention to detail.
* Good administrative and organisational skills, including prioritisation and working to deadlines.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, using patience, tact and cultural sensitivity to obtain accurate, timely information.
* Creativity and initiative for finding a variety of approaches to solve problems.
* Computer literate, with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word.
* Ideally some prior experience in working in a finance environment and experience with accounting software.
* An interest in working in the charity sector.
