St Edward’s is a very special place with a distinctive Christian ethos. At the centre of our school is a vision to see all children live ‘Life in all its fullness’ in mind, body, heart and spirit.
Our staff, parents and governors are very proud of our school with its excellent team of dedicated teachers, support staff and its enthusiastic and caring children. Graded as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (October 2024), we are proud of our children and how well they achieve.
We are fully committed to Inclusion as a school, with a passion to ensure that those with additional barriers to learning also flourish here. Our high numbers of children with additional needs are supported by committed staff, including a highly effective Inclusion team. We hold ‘Centre of Excellence’ status with the Inclusion Quality Mark and expect all our staff to be committed to working with all our children to ensure they thrive.
We are looking for a permanent Teaching Assistant to work initially in our Nursery. This role is needed as numbers are growing rapidly, particularly with the addition of more two-year-old children. Our Nursery is led by two teachers and gives our children an excellent start to their formal education.
We would like to appoint someone who:
* is enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative;
* is an effective communicator with pupils and staff;
* possesses good literacy and numeracy skills;
* is able to deal with a child’s medical, physical, emotional and behavioural needs;
* holds a Level 3 qualification in a childcare related field.
Please apply online.
Closing Date: Monday 24th February 2025 - 12pm
Interview Date: W/b 3rd March 2025
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process, including a Disclosure Check, will be undertaken on all applicants.
Safeguarding:
Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore, Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.
It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.
Equal Opportunities:
Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities.
