We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Mental Healthcare service team at HMP Onley, a category C Prison located in Rugby.
Working within a large healthcare team consisting of around 30 staff, your role will be to oversee 4 qualified Mental Health Nurses and an Art Therapist, working alongside a Mental Health Nurse ACP for additional clinical support. Great training opportunities and development. Free parking.
Hours
37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9-5 / 8-4 but the site is happy to negotiate different shift patterns. No weekend working or nights.
Salary
This position is full-time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £55,996 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis, and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will include:
* Work as part of and lead the Mental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.
* Provide clinical leadership and management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
* Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
* Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
* Actively participate in the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clear for clinicians.
* Ensure all complaints/concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with.
* Nurse-led treatment or care within mental health.
* Confirm waiting lists are well managed, ensuring minimal waiting times for patients.
* Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration.
* Set standards for care by implementing protocols and establishing health education activities.
* Maintain accurate documentation of assessment, planning, and treatment of patients.
* Work closely with the Head of Healthcare ensuring that reports and other measures are accurately completed.

Qualifications required
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council)
* BSc or equivalent qualification
* Experience of providing supervision/managing a team
* Teaching/Mentoring experience and/or qualification
* Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and ongoing competence in all aspects of the role.
