Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Consultant Cardiologist with a primary specialist interest in Inherited Cardiac Conditions, plus either Imaging or Heart failure.
The post is based at the Northern General Hospital. The successful candidate will join our team of 31 Cardiology consultants, including 13 non-interventional cardiologists, with a commitment to share the non-interventional on call rota and ward cover.
The successful candidate will have experience and expertise primarily in Inherited Cardiac Conditions, but an additional interest in either Imaging or Heart failure would be preferred.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will be responsible for the provision of general non-interventional cardiology services as part of the team of consultant cardiologists, to enable Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust to fulfil its service agreements with its commissioners.
There will be specialist sessions in Inherited Cardiac Conditions and either Imaging (echocardiography) or Heart failure, depending on the experience of the appointee.
Imaging can currently be accommodated in echocardiography. Participation in CT or cardiac MR could be considered dependent on capacity within Radiology - it has not been specifically identified for this post.
The appointee will be expected to take part in the administrative work relevant to their clinical commitment and to contribute to the work of the Directorate. The appointee will also be expected to take an active part in Clinical Audit and Clinical Teaching.

* MRCP or equivalent
