Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Delivery Manager to join our evolving team. We’re always on the lookout for top talent to join our growing business. In fact, we never stand still, we work hard, make quick decisions and deliver to our ambitious goals every day.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the business meets our clients and customers' expectations by driving an excellent customer experience through a team that engages self-employed couriers. The role is accountable for the performance of a team covering a designated region. It will drive the achievement of targets and ensure the cost efficiency of the courier network is maximised to maintain and further improve both the Company and third-party contractual standards.
You will be accountable for:
1. Regional performance targets and customer satisfaction through guiding, coaching, and managing a team of Community Delivery Managers.
2. Influencing the build of and responsible for the delivery and forecast of regional budget and controls (including but not limited to courier fees, contractor spend, ad-hoc payments, team expenses, and over-rides) by managing costs and ensuring the team understands the financial impact of their decisions to ensure the profitable running of their region.
3. Maximising service coverage of courier deliveries and collections within the region through the successful and timely recruitment of couriers and their engagement, retention, and successful change management (where needed) to ensure a stable and consistently high-quality service is delivered for our customers and clients.
4. Resource planning of couriers through pipeline review, advertising, and reviews with the Resource Planner to ensure round coverage is in place.
5. Driving courier performance through a team of Community Delivery Managers to ensure the success of a seven-day operation.
6. Managing the delivery unit estate within their region (including but not limited to the location, procurement, and management of delivery units & resourcing) and management of service provision through service conversations with the delivery unit controller to ensure that Evri delivers a professional and sustainable Delivery Organisation focused on quality, service, and productivity.
7. Building and maintaining a strong, productive, and professional local union relationship with the GMB to ensure Evri maintains a positive relationship with the union and continues to be at the forefront of self-employed status recognition for our self-employed couriers.
8. Setting and implementing best practices and adherence to the Code of Conduct and SOPs to ensure that the work environment is safe for themselves and others.
9. Building and maintaining strong relationships with their peers in the depot, namely the Depot General Manager, and key stakeholders across the organisation through effective communication skills resulting in high performance in the end-to-end parcel journey.
10. Customer complaint escalation management and timely resolution to ensure customer satisfaction through liaising with the Customer Services Team and leadership of Community Delivery Managers.
To be successful in this role you will require the following…
Qualifications:
1. Current UK Driving licence
2. Level 3 Management Qualification or equivalent
3. IOSH Qualification or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience:
1. Previous experience of coaching, supporting, and motivating colleagues
2. Problem-solving and planning effective contingencies and solutions
3. Experience of maintaining local union relationships
4. Previous experience of managing an agile team
5. Knowledge of the self-employed courier model
6. Previous experience of setting and managing a budget
Technical & People Skills:
1. Customer-focused approach
2. Ability to adapt to different styles and behaviours
