Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Duration: Permanent Location: Gloucester Job Ref: 203099 About the role Ecclesiastical, who are proudly part of the Benefact Group, are looking for a Product Owner to join our Gloucester office, with hybrid working. The Technology Analysis and Product (TAP) Team is a dynamic team of talented Business Analysts and Product Owners within the Group Technology Department. This team operates across several Technology product teams, with some members also working on projects or mobilising new initiatives outside of existing Products. Our primary delivery method is Agile. As a TAP Product Owner you will be an instrumental enabler for strong and high performing Product delivery Scrum Teams delivering high-value features. You will be responsible for one or more Technology Products, working with the Lead Product Owner and Business Analysts assigned to those products. Key responsibilities You will be responsible for all or part of for the following areas as agreed with the Lead Product Owner. Depending on your Product(s), you may also collaborate with Business Analysts within your domain who will have responsibility for certain elements as mutually agreed: Product Roadmap Management: Maintain the product roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the product vision and strategy. Communicate the roadmap to stakeholders and the development team, providing updates as necessary. Input into team resource planning and options to support roadmap delivery. Backlog Management: Create, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog. Define user stories and acceptance criteria. Ensure the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their needs are considered in the product development process. Sprint Planning and Review: Participate in sprint planning meetings to help the team understand the requirements and priorities. Review and accept completed user stories to ensure they meet the acceptance criteria. Research: Conduct research to understand customer needs and market trends. Analyse user feedback and data to inform product decisions. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the development team, UX/UI designers, and other departments to ensure successful product delivery. Effective collaboration with third-party suppliers to deliver quality products and services. Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the product development process. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices. Contribute to Practice standards and improvements. Knowledge, skills and experience Proven Experience : Strong Agile and Scrum experience with a thorough understanding of the Product Owner role particularly with a technology focus. Outstanding Communication : Exceptional skills in communication and presentation. Analytical Prowess : Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities. Stakeholder Management : Expertise in balancing and managing conflicting stakeholder needs. Agile Expertise : Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, especially Scrum. Multitasking Ability : Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Tool Proficiency : Experience with product management tools like Jira and Confluence. UX/UI Knowledge : Familiarity with UX/UI principles. Technical Acumen : Understanding of software development processes and technologies. Industry Knowledge : Insight into the insurance industry, even if gained through different roles (preferable). Certified Professional : Certified Product Owner credentials (preferable).
