Our client, a leading reinsurance provider, have an exciting upcoming opportunity, as they are seeking a Basis Management Actuary. In this role you will be working as part of the Basis Management Team. For this role we are seeking a Qualified Actuary with relevant post qualification experience. This position is based in Dublin City and has a hybrid work structure. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of reinsurance transactions, actuarial models and a variety of software.
About this Actuary – Basis Management role
Duties for this role include (but are not limited to):
* Contribute to the review of key actuarial assumptions, including mortality, mortality improvements, lapse rates, expense levels, and expense inflation trends.
* Prepare accurate, clear, and concise documentation, effectively communicating complex technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Work collaboratively with the Business Development team, Operations team, and various actuarial teams to seamlessly integrate new transactions into the production framework.
* Review and develop the relevant actuarial methodologies and techniques.
Actuarial skills required
This role will suit a Qualified Actuary with relevant PQE in a life/reinsurance environment and candidates will ideally have experience of the following:
* Experience of data management, experience studies, basis review, financial reporting, cash flow modelling or model development.
* Capable of working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with great communication and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Experience with modelling software (ideally Prophet), SQL, R, and data visualization tools (ideally Power BI).
