Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
1. Good general education including GCSE in Maths or English and A-levels (or equivalent)
2. Typing speed of 40 WPM minimum
3. RSA III or equivalent, or equivalent skills and experience
Desirable Criteria
1. Customer Care course (or equivalent experience)
Experience
Essential Criteria
1. Secretarial / Administration experience of which at least 2 years should have been spent as a medical secretary
2. Experience of working within a hospital
3. Experience in establishing/maintaining robust office systems
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience of working with patients with complex needs
2. Experience of working with different professional groups
Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Ability to work unsupervised
2. Computer/word processing skills including use of email (e.g., ability to create directories, documents, mail merge, etc.)
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Excellent organisational skills
Desirable Criteria
1. Ability to use iCLIP and the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) or equivalent
2. Ability to use Excel / PowerPoint / Access
