The Grimsby Institute is part of the TEC Partnership, which is a large, innovative, dynamic and financially sound organisation.
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable GDPR Officer to join our team on a part-time basis based at The Grimsby Institute. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our compliance with data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and managing freedom of information requests.
The officer will oversee the Partnership’s data protection compliance program, conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure data protection practices are up-to-date, and provide expert advice and guidance on data protection and freedom of information matters. Additionally, the officer will develop and deliver training programs on data protection and freedom of information, handle data subject access requests, manage data breaches in accordance with GDPR requirements, and process freedom of information requests in compliance with relevant legislation. Liaising with regulatory authorities and representing the partnership in data protection and freedom of information matters will also be part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a data protection and freedom of information compliance role, preferably within an educational setting, and possess in-depth knowledge of GDPR, data protection laws, and freedom of information legislation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Relevant certifications in data protection or privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) are highly desirable.
