Assist the Procurement and Distribution (P&D) Team Leader in the following:
1. Safe, high quality patient centred Procurement and Distribution services (P&D). This includes all aspects of medicine storage, including medical gases, aligned with the guidance document “Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Distributors” and the Trust’s Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (for medicines for human use) aka WDA(H).
2. The planning, development, monitoring, audit, evaluation and delivery of the P&D services across the Trust.
3. Ensuring that working practices meet requirements of medicines legislation as well as professional, local and national guidelines.
4. Implementing necessary changes, thereby ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality service.
5. Provide professional leadership and management of all aspects of P&D services for all staff members who work within the area. This includes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pre-registration staff, trainee pharmacists and support workers.
6. Management of regional and national contracts and ensuring departmental compliance.
7. Ensuring that appropriate training is provided and documented for all staff working in the area.
8. Promote excellence within the P&D department and model behaviours of continuous learning and improvement to others.
9. Represent BHT at regional and national levels and participate in the wider strategic agenda for pharmacy technicians

Essential criteria
10. Registered Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council
11. First line management training or a management Qualification.
12. Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
Desirable criteria
13. Pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician assessor course/ Workplace Training supervisor
14. CIPS qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
15. Hospital Pharmacy Experience
16. Experience in delivering a Procurement and Distribution service
17. Experience of line managing and following HR policies
18. Experience of day to day supervision and training
