Position: Family Support Worker\n\nContract: 3-Month Rolling Contract\n\nHours: 36.5 hours per week\n\nPay Rate: £15.84 - £20.22 per hour\n\nLocation: Birmingham\n\n________________________________________\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Family Support Worker to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will provide leadership and high-quality support to children, young people, and families in need. You will play a key role in delivering interventions, managing complex cases, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.\n\nAs a Family Support Worker, you will also act as a point of expertise and guidance for colleagues, supporting best practice in Early Help Assessments and intervention planning.\n\n________________________________________\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Early Help Assessments: Conduct detailed assessments to identify needs and create effective support plans for families.\n\n * Right Help, Right Time: Apply the framework to deliver timely, targeted interventions that meet the specific needs of families.\n\n * Intervention Delivery: Work directly with children, young people, and families to deliver practical and tailored support.\n\n * Complex Case Management: Take responsibility for managing complex and high-need cases, ensuring effective risk assessment and planning.\n\n * Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with professionals from education, health, social care, and voluntary organisations to provide coordinated support.\n\n * Team Support: Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring best practice across the service.\n\n * Safeguarding: Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with local policies and procedures.\n\n * Monitoring and Evaluation: Maintain accurate records of interventions, outcomes, and progress to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.\n\n * Contribute to team meetings, case reviews, and multi-agency discussions, providing leadership and expertise as required.\n\n________________________________________\n\nEssential Criteria\n\n * Demonstrated experience in conducting Early Help Assessments and delivering effective interventions.\n\n * Strong knowledge of the Right Help, Right Time framework and its practical application.\n\n * Extensive experience in multi-agency working, with the ability to lead and coordinate joint efforts across services.\n\n * Proven ability to manage complex cases and assess risk effectively.\n\n * Excellent communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families and professionals.\n\n * Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.\n\n * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families.\n\n________________________________________\n\nBenefits of the Role\n\n * Competitive hourly rate of up to £20.22 per hour.\n\n * Opportunity to lead and shape impactful work with families in Birmingham.\n\n * Professional development opportunities through exposure to complex cases and multi-agency working.\n\n * Flexible and rolling 3-month contract, offering job stability and potential for extension or the opportunity to apply for a permanent position
