We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to work within the Community Mental Health Team for Older persons across Hambleton and Richmondshire. The post holder would be supporting patients within their own homes and care homes to provide dietetic input, nutrition support and weight management advice. Previous mental health experience is desirable but not essential as we can help develop your knowledge and skills, provide training, and support your progression, in this specialist field of dietetics.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an active member of the Multidisciplinary team providing dietetic input to range of patients with mental health conditions such as depression, psychosis and dementia. This post also involves staff and student training, audit, research activities and pathway development.
Our Dietetic team is the largest mental health, learning disability and autism team in the UK, with strong links to the British Dietetic Association. We have dietetic services in Adult Eating Disorders, Adult Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Services for Older People and Secure Inpatient Services. We are supported by our Professional Head of Dietetics and large group of experienced Clinical Specialists and Lead Dietitians. Further support for the post will be provided through regular clinical supervision; attendance at Speciality Group Meetings and Dietetic learning Networks; our Preceptorship Programme: and the Band 5 Peer Support Network.
