37.5hrs per week (part time hours considered)
We are currently seeking additional support workers to join our existing team in one of our Nursing Homes in Pewsey (SN9). As a support worker with a caring nature, who is committed and reliable, you will be joining a dedicated and passionate team.
You may be new to care or have transferable skills and life experience. At Milestones Trust we provide full training to all of our employees, to help them settle into their new roles.
As a support worker you will be supporting residents with day-to-day living and a variety of activities. From shopping, personal care, medication support and help at mealtimes, to some light household duties and making that all important night-time cuppa or supper before bed. You may also support with outdoor activities, like travelling around the area, going to the cinema and beyond. For this reason, to be a driver would be desirable.
The main purpose of the role is to provide an integrated, ethical and inclusive service, which meets agreed needs and outcomes for people with learning disabilities requiring health and/or social care, by:
* Actively supporting people to meet their goals and realise their dreams and aspirations, in a person-centred way
* Promoting empowerment and wellbeing, with care and respect.
* Ensuring that the 'No Secret' guidelines are applied to the care, protection and safeguarding of the people we support
The individuals who live at Holly Lodge enjoy a variety of activities, so if you like going bowling, ice-skating or on day trips out, then this would be fantastic. If we choose to do something a little less physical, we also like going to the cinema to watch a movie or out for a pub lunch. Maybe, you will be happy to take us away on holiday? We would truly love this. Ideally, we need a team who can work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, sleep ins and some bank holidays, when required, as we need your support around the clock. If you have some restrictions, that is okay, we have a team of bank staff too, who come in and work with us when they have some free time.
As a support worker you must be friendly, sociable and enjoy a range of activities, able to support someone to learn new things and develop independence, have a positive outlook and be able to demonstrate that you share our values and are committed to supporting people to get the most out of their day.
Experience is not necessarily required as we offer excellent levels of professional training to all our support workers, with on-the-job one to one coaching and learning, supported by additional educational qualifications if you require further development.
You will be joining a great team of people, who are passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic, and who will work with you to deliver an outstanding level of care and support.
At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:
* 30 days annual leave entitlement
* Company pension scheme, to help grow your retirement pot
* Learning and development opportunities to help you to build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme, and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications
* Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. dental, therapies, optical, maternity/paternity, NHS prescriptions etc.
* Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
* Get paid when you want – access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
* Access to an Employee Discount Platform from day one, with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers
* An employee referral scheme that allows you to earn money for referring friends and family.
We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust.
