We need to enhance our capacity and develop the performance on-site, that’s why we’re looking for a new V.I.E to join us. Work with the team who designed and installed the first CO2 free manufacturing line of Plasterboards in the world.
Your main role will be to participate in the current studies. You will:
* Create the design documentation like instrument lists, flow schematics, layouts, pilot plans.
* Participate in the procurement process for the selection of contractors and equipment.
* Review and improve the designs proposed by the suppliers.
* Develop simulation tools for our area.
A plus for this role:
Working from home will be possible for a candidate that can work without supervision after developing basic knowledge. Typically, our team works up to 2 days a week from home.
This position is new. We hope to develop someone that hopefully will take a position within Saint-Gobain after the V.I.E mission.
This is a 12-month mission, non-extendable.
Is this job for you?
* Master’s degree in mechanical or design engineering, with some knowledge of project management.
* Good understanding of the principle of mechanical design and AutoCAD.
* Knowledge of Inventor, Naviswork or another 3D tool is appreciated.
* Knowledge of simulation tools (Event based or hybrid) is appreciated.
* Basic knowledge of metal fabrication, structural design, and project management.
* Working understanding of principles of CFD, FEA.
* Methodical and ready to travel and to work in an international environment and with different teams.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Our department is tasked with process design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning of major new plasterboards lines projects for Saint-Gobain. We have between 3-6 major projects concurrently running across the world. The department has people in the United Kingdom, France, China, and India.
Our team of 4 is based in the UK, we manage the boards handling, drying, and packaging area, which represents between 5M€ - 75 M€ per line depending on the size of projects. More and more of our projects concern decarbonation of existing lines.
