We are recruiting newly qualified (or due to graduate) and experienced qualified and SWE registered social workers to join us here in Sheffield’s children’s statutory frontline services. We have an exceptional ASYE offer in addition to a specific newly qualified social work training pathway.
Our ASYE offer includes one-to-one support from a social work consultant, support from a line manager, study days, networking sessions, master classes provided by social work experts, and a phased protected low caseload during the 12-month ASYE programme.
If you haven’t completed your ASYE yet and are wishing to move local authorities, that isn’t a problem as we will pick up where you left off. Already passed your ASYE but looking for another job? No problem - we will support you so that you can progress to being a senior social worker through our fast-track career pathway.
We are unable to sponsor overseas applicants at this moment in time.
We welcome applications from those who left the children and families social work profession some time ago. If you would like to return to social work, we will help you to regain your SWE registration through a bespoke support package.
We have stable management teams with no agency managers and can offer you continuous support, guidance, and reflective supervision allowing you to grow and develop through your career. If you are successful at interview, a post will be offered to you based on your experience and the needs of the service.
Sheffield is a great, diverse city located on the outskirts of the Peak District – with a wide range of cultural, social, and outdoor activities, good schools, excellent transport links, and affordable housing.
Employees can access our Electric Car Benefit scheme, cycle scheme, discounted bus and tram tickets, help towards the cost of childcare, and cost of living help amongst a number of other pay and reward benefits.
Our October 2024 Ofsted focused inspection rated our children’s services as “Good” and confirmed:
1. We have great staff in Sheffield who are proud to work here and most importantly are child-centred.
2. We hear the voice of our children and take a child-centred approach.
3. We make good, well thought through decisions looking to improve the lives of our children.
4. Workers are highly committed and proud of the difference they make to children’s lives.
