Based in Bedfordshire, they are currently seeking to recruit a Lead Certification Engineer to join their in - house Certification Department. Applications are invited from lead airworthiness or certification engineers / team leaders who have aerospace industry experience, both technical and operational, ideally including galley systems.The purpose of this role is to manage and oversee all aspects of certification activities of a product branch of the Certification Department. This role covers a range of responsibilities including:Function as the recognised expert by providing advice and assistance for your area of specialityLine management of direct reports within your team including team member appraisals, mentoring. general training and development of the Team. Efficiently organise, plan, prioritise and co - ordinate work tasksResponsible for technical quality and timely delivery of outputs from the product branch teamEnsure that certification work scope is in line with program contract and certification data supports the business through the product life cycleTake ownership of and set strategy and protocol for programs and processesLead most complex projects and programs in area of specialtyWork with team and with other sections to achieve Systems Qualification and Development testing, including test preparation, test conduct, fault finding, results analysis, and documentation generation.Participates in the generation of overall clearances and DDPsConducts design validation and certification reviews on new designs and change requests.Escalation of any certification issues to the Verification and Test ManagerDeputises for Verification and Test Manager in the case of absence.This is a challenging role the successful applicant will be flexible, determined and self - motivated. Candidates must have a detailed knowledge of the certification and test structures and practices. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire and drive others - a Team Leading or Management Qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
