We are looking for an enthusiastic PSHE Teacher to join our Milton Keynes-based SEN Secondary School and help our students thrive both academically and personally.
About the Role:
As a PSHE Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting students with diverse needs, guiding them through essential life skills that prepare them for independence, self-care, and positive social interactions. Your focus will be on developing and delivering a curriculum tailored to each student s abilities, promoting emotional resilience, self-awareness, and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver PSHE lessons that address the needs and challenges of SEN students, focusing on topics like emotional wellbeing, relationships, personal safety, and financial literacy.
* Create a safe, supportive classroom environment where students feel respected, valued, and empowered to express themselves.
* Differentiate instruction to cater to a range of learning needs and abilities, ensuring all students can engage meaningfully with the curriculum.
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and therapists to implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) that align with each student s educational goals.
* Regularly assess students progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting lessons as needed to ensure continuous growth and development.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a holistic approach to each student s wellbeing and academic progress.
What We re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification with experience in PSHE or a similar subject.
* Experience working with SEN students, ideally within a secondary school setting.
* Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of each student.
* Ability to create engaging, accessible lessons that foster a safe and inclusive environment.
* Enthusiasm for working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality support for each student.
