Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Mainstream Primary School, East Acton Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (Full-time) Salary: Competitive pay rates (dependent on experience) Axcis Education is seeking an experienced SEND teaching assistant to join a mainstream primary school in East Acton. The successful candidate will support students with special educational needs, working closely with them on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. This role requires someone who has experience working in mainstream schools and in line with children’s Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Key Responsibilities: -Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND. -Assist the class teacher in lesson planning and managing the classroom. -Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours. -Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. -Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. -Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to ensure the best support for each child. Requirements: -Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a SEND setting. -Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviours in a school environment. -Personable and approachable, with strong communication skills. -A valid DBS on the Update Service (essential). -Commitment to supporting students throughout the full academic year. -A patient, compassionate, and resilient attitude when working with children with diverse needs. -Able to commit fulltime INDLON
