At Mitsubishi Chemical UK Electrolytes Division we are a small team of 30-50 employees manufacturing Sol-Rite formulated electrolytes in organic solvents. These are used for lithium-ion batteries with formulations designed to meet the customer needs and to optimise the battery performance.
Role Summary
In this role, you will manage all aspects of the Electrolytes Supply Chain Activities. This will include leading the logistics function as well as engaging with third parties such as customers, transportation and external warehousing, and internal Mitsubishi Chemical Group links, including the raw materials supply chain.
You will be required to provide leadership to the logistics team, ensuring safety regulations are adhered to, as well as leading improvement plans for the team.
This role also requires the management of assets such as ISO tanks and other forms of packaging.
Responsibilities
1. Leadership: You will manage all supply chain and logistics activities, including direct line management for the small supply chain team.
2. Collaboration and Communication: You will be required to lead the Sales & Operational Planning process to coordinate the requirements of both customers, business and production in the most effective way. This includes the management of forecast requirements and coordination across the business and raw materials supply chains.
3. Technical Understanding: Understand the legal requirements and regulations in the carriage or the related packing, loading, filling or unloading, of dangerous goods. Ability to use and understand SAP.
What Are We Looking For
1. Leadership and Communication: Demonstrable leadership qualities, strong people management skills and interpersonal awareness coupled with good communication, influencing skills and able to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
2. Logistics experience: Previous logistics leadership experience, preferably within a chemical manufacturing environment.
3. Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA): Being qualified as a DGSA would be advantageous, being willing to undertake the qualification would be needed for this role.
