About the Role: In this rewarding role, you will play an essential role in supporting students with a variety of special educational needs, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and speech or language difficulties. Your presence in the classroom will ensure these pupils can fully engage in their learning, while also helping them to develop socially and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning strategies. Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience through structured routines and encouragement. Support students across a range of subjects and activities, ensuring they feel included and empowered. Help to maintain an engaging, respectful and supportive classroom environment. Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to ensure pupils’ progress. Monitor and record student achievements and challenges, reporting back to relevant staff. Job Requirements: Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, either in an educational or care setting. Awareness of various learning needs, including ASC, ADHD and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). Patience, empathy and a calm approach to working with children who require additional support. Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students, staff and parents. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning are advantageous. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
