This role is for an engineer who can design, introduce and support the electrical / electronic systems (control) including supporting related affected parts / components, which are used in the Lavazza Professional drinks range of vending machines.

To design, develop and verify new electrical / electronics sub-assemblies parts and components; To create and maintain the design and manufacturing specifications of new and existing electrical / electronics related products.
Manage internal electrical / electronic developments from concept to introduction ensuring that the development follows the appropriate process, meets the required specifications and is delivered within agreed cost and time constraints.
Honours Degree in electronics.
Ideally, member of IET and Engineering Council
A sound grounding in electronics theory (analogue, power and digital).
An understanding of Electrical design theory and practice (up to 230V).
An understanding of mechatronics as used in vending machines.
Good practical build skills (e.g. soldering) for production of prototype and test rigs.
Electronics CAD (Altium) skills for schematic and PCB layout.
Electronic circuit simulation, design analysis, and mathematical modelling tools.
Knowledge of legal standards and their application.
Understanding of electronic assembly manufacturing processes.
Creating detailed project / design documents.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Power Point, Excel, Word)
To create and store the design and project output documentation (including any ‘due diligence’) necessary for future maintenance and support of electrical / electronics related products
Technical authority to electrical / electronics assembly suppliers for component change in order to protect manufacturing supply chain.
To provide technical support to resolve quality and supply issues originating with electrical / electronic parts and, if necessary, update design and manufacturing specification(s)
To collaborate with other departments and project members to achieve the delivery of equipment projects.
In order to fulfil the requirements of this role, the Electrical / Electronics Engineer will be conversant in electrical / electronic (hardware) engineering. They will have a good understanding of the tools used in the development and introduction of electrical / electronic based projects and have a proven track record of designing electrical / electronic subsystems for white goods or vending equipment.
As such, all solutions need to conform to the regional legal requirements for safety and regulatory legislation. The role requires the ability to create and translate requirements into working electrical / electronic circuits and systems.
The Electrical / Electronics Engineer will be required to manage discipline-based projects both on / off shore. both for the development and project output.
Depending on project requirements, the Electrical / Electronics Engineer will interpret project requirement specifications and translate them into innovative solutions
The Electrical / Electronics Engineer will be the key interface with suppliers and sub-contract manufacturers so must develop an awareness of sub-contract capabilities and ensure that the designs and design process are adapted as appropriate.
The Electrical / Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management, direction and output, of contract design engineers assigned to their projects.
The Electrical / Engineer would be expected to contribute / maintain our safety culture which resides within our working environment.
Sponsorship maybe considered for the right person but UK work experience must be demonstrable. Although some Hybrid working is available due to the nature of the role you must be able to work on site here at our Head Office site in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
