We are looking for a ward clerk to join our admin team at Bromyard Community Hospital, an 18-bedded unit.
The successful candidate will work directly with members of the multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and other professionals.
You will need to have great communication skills and be able to multi-task in a busy, fast-paced environment.
The role is 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining effective communication with ward staff, external departments within the Trust, and key stakeholders outside the Trust, utilizing telephone and email as appropriate.
2. Arranging appointments, transfers, etc., on the request of the nursing and medical staff, liaising with other wards, departments, and outside agencies as necessary.
3. Ensuring that medical notes are maintained in good order, with filing undertaken promptly when the notes have been completed by healthcare professionals.
4. Politely meeting and welcoming all patients and visitors to the department.
5. Ensuring maxims are kept up to date at all times with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
