Senior Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant
Location: Agile (home) working with ability to visit Manchester, London or Leicester office to suit business requirements - other locations will be considered.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant to support the continued growth of our UK-based Environment, Sustainability & Planning (ESP) team and the wider business.
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who wants to progress their career with a growing global consultancy, working on challenging and often ground-breaking projects. We have a considerable pipeline of work across sectors including urban regeneration, government and defence, infrastructure, energy, marine and coastal. You will have the opportunity to engage and learn from a vast range of technical experts across our environmental, planning, sustainability and project management departments. The role will provide the chance to broaden skills and experience within project management, business development and technical assessment areas.
Responsibilities
1. Project and Team Management:
Lead and oversee the EIA process for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Coordinate and collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors to gather necessary data and information.
3. Develop and implement project plans and programmes.
4. Support with team resourcing schedules and management of junior colleagues.
1. Environmental Impact Assessment:
Co-ordinate comprehensive assessments of potential environmental, social, and economic impacts associated with proposed projects.
2. Analyse data, assess risks, and identify potential mitigation measures.
3. Stay updated with relevant environmental regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance.
4. Collaborate with colleagues from other teams to understand data related to air and water quality, biodiversity, land use, and socio-economic factors.
5. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
Effectively communicate and engage with clients and stakeholders, including project developers, government agencies, local communities, and NGOs.
6. Attend workshops and meetings to gather input and address concerns.
7. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
8. Report Writing and Communication:
Prepare comprehensive EIA reports that clearly communicate assessment findings and recommended mitigation measures.
9. Ensure reports are technically accurate and effectively convey complex information.
10. Technical Specialism(s):
Be competent or enthusiastic to learn an additional technical specialism in areas such as climate change and natural capital assessments.
Requirements:
1. A Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Ecology, or a related field.
2. Experience in conducting and managing EIA across a range of projects.
3. Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations related to EIA processes.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Professional membership of an appropriate body (preferably Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment).
