Salary: From £38,000 upwards and is negotiable dependant on experience.
Are you currently a registered manager looking for a new challenge or perhaps a deputy manager looking to further your career and take the next step? This position could be just what you are waiting for. Our service is looking to expand and we require a registered manager for our new home.
Our service currently caters for children and young people from the age of 6 to 17 years old and can accommodate up to 3 young people with emotional and behavioural challenges. We are looking to open another home, providing care to a similar number of young people.
This position is for someone who truly cares about the lived experience for the young people and who wishes to make a difference in their lives. We very much focus on providing our young people with the therapeutic environment that they each deserve; knowledge of therapeutic practices would therefore be advantageous.
We also feel it is imperative that our staff feel valued and appreciated. We therefore provide a supportive structure around management and care staff and expect this to also be displayed by the manager to their staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that the home and the care provided is of a high standard and that all legislative requirements are met.
2. Completion of rotas, supervisions, quality assurance of reporting and recording, and participating in on-call duty.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A minimum of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent. Completion of a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare would be desirable but not essential. You would, however, need to be willing to complete the Level 5 qualification within the regulated timescales, which we would support you with.
2. Minimum of 3 years experience within a residential setting, including a period of time overseeing staff.
3. A full clean driving license.
4. Previous experience of being registered by Ofsted would be advantageous but not essential.
We are looking for a candidate who:
1. Understands the statutory requirements for the home and is able to meet these.
2. Is passionate about working with young people and making a positive difference to them.
3. Is able to manage a small number of residential care workers, providing them with supervision and support as necessary.
4. Is confident at delivering training to staff members.
5. Has knowledge of the impact of adverse childhood experiences on young people.
6. Is willing to have all necessary checks carried out, including completing an enhanced DBS check.
