Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Renal Technician to lead the Technician team in the Sussex Kidney Unit. The lead technician will be a member of a small team of renal technicians and part of the management group supporting renal services across several sites in the South East, including two satellite units, a home dialysis program, and other specialties within the care group. You will be a key member of the department, working alongside stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to provide best-in-practice service.
Main duties of the job
The applicant should demonstrate considerable technical experience in medical equipment maintenance, haemodialysis, and related water treatment. Accreditation by the Association of Renal Technologists is required. The successful candidate will be innovative in creating compliant solutions and motivating the team to achieve goals.

Job responsibilities
The lead renal technologist manages technical operations for all aspects of dialysis, including the home dialysis program. The role supports the renal technical service by providing leadership in assigned areas, working closely with clinicians and nursing management to improve patient care.
You must possess a full UK (Manual) driving licence.
Able to use fine tools for equipment adjustment/assembly.
Able to handle medium loads within safe limits.
Able to concentrate for long periods to ensure accuracy.
Able to handle emotionally challenging situations, such as fault-finding on patient-connected equipment in wards and homes.
Capable of training professional staff and patients in medical equipment use.
Able to manage complex and unpredictable situations.
Motivates colleagues and acts with confident authority when needed.
