We are recruiting midwives with a current interest in working in Antenatal Clinic, Community and Enhanced Teams, or Maternity Triage and Day Assessment Unit. All preferences will be considered for successful candidates.
Applicants are welcome from NMC registrants who are highly motivated and passionate about providing high quality, evidence-based care. The post holder will work as a member of our team, providing and leading midwifery care to service users and families.
Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation programme and appropriate support and development.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Provide high quality, safe and evidence-based care across all settings; applying knowledge and skills to holistically assess, plan, implement and evaluate care within their scope of practice.
2. Facilitate informed decision making in all aspects of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
3. Establish and maintain effective communication with women and their families.
4. Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and wider organisations as required.
5. Maintain clinical skills and competencies to uphold NMC registration.
6. Work within the NMC Code of professional standards, and Trust guidelines and policies.

3. Practice within the parameters of Trust policies and guidelines, and within scope of practice.

5. Practice autonomously and escalate appropriately.
6. Manage workload and time effectively.
7. Encourage health promotion in line with the public health agenda.
8. Report incidents in line with the Trust reporting process.
9. Protect and safeguard women and babies.
10. Act as a role model and mentor to all grades of staff and students, creating a positive learning environment for all.
11. Maintain NMC registration through revalidation and compliance with mandatory training and ongoing professional development.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife - NMC
* ENB 997 or other teaching/mentoring qualification or equivalent experience
* Degree in midwifery or equivalent
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Evidence of completion of comprehensive preceptorship programme
Experience
* Experience of working as a practising midwife in all areas of midwifery practice
* Effective communicator with excellent written and interpersonal skills
* Evidence of clinical expertise and knowledge acquired through CPD and experience
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Ability to manage a team/service and workload
Skills
* Clear understanding of midwifery issues and up-to-date knowledge of current NHS developments within maternity services
* Able to deliver a high standard of evidence-based individual client care
* Computer literate with sound knowledge of software packages and good keyboard skills
* Experience of data collection and compilation of statistics
* Experience of auditing the service
Knowledge
* Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
* Evidence of clinical and professional expertise acquired through CPD and experience
* Experience of and understanding of resource management
Additional
* Flexible and positive approach to work. May be required to work in any area of midwifery practice.
* Able to travel between sites
* Able to undertake on-call duties

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, pro rata
