Job Purpose: Lead the delivery of external communications and media relations for an organisation, ensuring effective representation of views and opinions. Collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve strategic aims.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage external media relations, acting as a liaison between the organisation and local, regional, and national media.
2. Supervise press officers and ensure fair distribution of press office work.
3. Stay informed about news events and address relevant issues.
4. Cultivate positive relationships with journalists and other media contacts.
5. Coordinate proactive and reactive media engagement.
6. Set clear objectives, evaluate outcomes, and improve communication strategies.
7. Assist with other communication tasks, including document preparation.
8. Monitor media coverage and maintain internal and external relationships.
