MD Capability Officer (Radiation Project) – Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service
The National Resilience (NR) CBRN Mass Decontamination (MD) Capability Officer will support the Home Office Project Lead in delivering the Home Office Capability Review of MD and Radiological Response Project. This role will focus on operational implementation, training, assurance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure that the revised MD capability meets the evolving radiological, chemical, and biological threat landscape.
This position requires strong operational knowledge of CBRN(e) decontamination processes, understanding of NR governance structures, multi-agency, and cross government response coordination, and emergency preparedness planning. The officer will work closely with Fire and Rescue Services (FRS), NHS, Home Office, UKHSA, MoD, NPCC, and other key stakeholders to develop and test enhanced decontamination capabilities.
This is a secondment opportunity for 12 months.
The salary for this secondment is that of Station Manager B.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 at Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Training & Development Academy, Aintree, Liverpool.
