About the role As a Senior Registered Nurse in pre-assessment, you will: Provide the highest possible standard of nursing care for the patients and their families Ensure that an on-going welcoming, caring, and safe environment is provided for the patients Manage the pre-operative patient pathway to ensure a safe progress through theatre and recovery. Ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records Take an accurate patient history to identify red flags and take appropriate action. Hand over and transfer responsibility of care to colleagues, ensuring appropriate information and care is relayed Take an accurate medication history and follow guidelines for pre-operative medicines management Ensure that nursing procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with best practice, policy, professional and regulatory requirements Show leadership qualities within the team, with professional role modelling and support of junior and support staff. Attend meetings and represent department in special interest areas within the hospital. About you To be considered for the role of Registered Nurse, you’ll need to demonstrate: NMC registration Excellent attention to detail, ability to learn quickly and good mental stamina An awareness of research and ability to apply evidence-based practice in the clinical setting Evidence of continuous professional development & professional revalidation IT literate Excellent communication skills, written & verbal, with the ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels Phlebotomy skills (this can be taught in role) Up to date clinical skills We would be very happy to fully train you in this role if you have not worked as a pre-assessment nurse before. Full time hours available various shifts – Part time hours would be considered. Applications will be assessed and responded to as they are received.
