Job Title: Account Manager
Location: 1 role x Kirkby In Ashfield / 1 x role at Sandiacre
Reports to: Head of Operations
Salary: £28-35k depending on experience
Job Summary:
We are looking for a commercially astute, technically capable and operationally focused Account Manager to join our teams within our Fulfilment Centres situated within Kirby-in-Ashfield and Sandiacre. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands complex operational processes and possesses a deep understanding of the commercial and technical aspects of fulfilment and distribution. This individual will act as the main point of contact for key clients, ensuring the seamless execution of their requirements while driving growth, retention, and satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management:
o Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, developing and maintaining strong, trusting relationships.
o Proactively address client needs, anticipate challenges and present solutions to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.
o Conduct regular client meetings, monthly business reviews and performance updates, aligning operational and service levels with customer expectations.
2. Commercial Acumen and Growth:
o Drive revenue and profitability within assigned accounts by identifying growth opportunities, upselling and cross-selling relevant services.
o Collaborate with the Finance and Operations team to structure pricing, terms and value-added services to maximise account profitability.
o Monitor and report on account financials, identifying and mitigating potential risks to revenue and margins.
3. Operational Oversight and Performance Management:
o Ensure seamless execution of client requirements in collaboration with Fulfilment teams.
o Regularly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for client accounts, troubleshooting operational issues to maintain high service standards.
o Oversee process improvements and innovations that align with the client's evolving requirements, fostering efficiency and client satisfaction.
4. Technical Expertise:
o Understand and interpret technical aspects of fulfilment operations, such as inventory management, logistics software and data reporting.
o Serve as a knowledgeable advisor on process and systems improvements, working closely with internal teams to enhance capabilities for clients.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest tools and trends in fulfilment, offering insight into potential upgrades for client accounts.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience: 1+ years in account management, operations or commercial roles within fulfilment, distribution, or a related field.
2. Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in the use of G Docs, WMS and operational reporting tools.
3. Operational Acumen: Deep understanding of fulfilment operations, with a proven ability to manage and optimise processes.
4. Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of financial principles and experience with pricing, revenue growth, and account profitability.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and internal teams.
6. Problem Solving: Proven ability to address and resolve issues in a high-pressure environment, maintaining a focus on client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
7. Team Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally, fostering collaboration across commercial, operational, and technical teams.
