The Role:
Amazon Design Technologies is a multi-disciplinary team that provides design software, develops product data management (PDM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) solutions, systems platforms, and design processes to our Product Development, New Technology, Operations, and Manufacturing teams.
QAEs are responsible for driving our software development process toward quality-centric methodologies and for reporting on test progress, metrics, issues, and risks. You will write test cases, test plans, and test strategies that are of high quality and maintainable. You will reproduce product defects and script failures to assist developers or other testers, and identify, track, and accurately report defects found. You will create automation scripts for low complexity test cases based on feasibility analysis done by the QA/DEV teams. You will acquire knowledge of the features and detailed functional requirements of the work to execute your assigned tests and find gaps in the test plan/test coverage. You will deep dive into applications, comparing features between various versions and identifying changes made within versions. You will work with Product Management, User Experience, and other development teams to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of testing experience.
- Experience in manual testing, creating test plans, and detailed test cases.
- Experience in UI, API testing, and Load/Performance tests.
- Experience in scripting and writing automation tests.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Web UI and API testing.
- Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control.
- Writing detailed test plans and test cases.
- Developing automation frameworks.
