The Strategic Finance team’s core mission is to help Zilch make effective decisions, with the aim of building long term customer and company value. We achieve this by steering the company strategy and both understanding and sharing the drivers of our business, all while managing risks and keeping an eye out for opportunities. We work with teams across the business to answer key questions that are often ambiguous in nature. Day to day responsibilities. Partner with teams across the business to identify and drive short to medium term actions that support the delivery of our overall business strategy and any growth opportunities. Become a subject matter expert for a particular domain and influence the underlying drivers of business performance. Scenario modelling and business casing for a broad range of initiatives and layering this into business planning. Synthesise your findings into narratives with tangible and quantified business recommendations and go-to-market strategies. Track the implementation of these recommendations to maximise the impact to the business. Present your insights and recommendations to key stakeholders including C-suite. Grapple with trade-offs across the business, helping to guide effective use of capital. What we're looking for. Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Finance/Economics fields from an accredited institution or equivalent academic background. Advanced complex financial modelling and data querying skills (experience with SQL and/or BI tools such as Looker would be an advantage, but not mandatory). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities in the face of ambiguity. Experience influencing stakeholders at senior levels. 3 years of relevant experience in a strategic or commercial role (would suit someone who has experience working in banking/ private equity/ consulting, or for a high growth tech finance team). Someone who thrives in a start-up environment, is passionate and inquisitive. A problem solver who is creative and able to think from first principles when required. An individual who can operate in a fast-growing business, comfortable with ambiguity and able to strike a balance between speed and accuracy.
