We’re looking for an Assessment Officer to join our client’s team. This role is responsible for processing and prioritising housing applications, ensuring compliance with policies, and helping to prevent homelessness. Key Details: Temporary role until July 2025 Hybrid working – mix of office-based in Oxford and remote work Rates: £18.56 ph PAYE / Umbrella rate TBC Your Role: Assess housing applications, ensuring eligibility and priority are determined correctly. Provide advice and assistance to residents facing housing challenges. Support homelessness prevention initiatives, working closely with internal teams and external partners. Carry out housing needs assessments, income and expenditure evaluations, and benefit eligibility checks. Maintain accurate records and case management systems, ensuring compliance with regulations. Identify and escalate urgent housing needs, referring cases to the appropriate services. Stay up to date with housing legislation, welfare reform, and local housing policies. What We’re Looking For: Experience in housing assessments, customer service, or a similar public-facing role. Strong knowledge of housing policies, benefits, and homelessness prevention strategies. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to engage with vulnerable residents. Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
