Job summary
Southfield Low secure Unit offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Band 2 role in an inpatient unit. You will work in a forensic service that provides you with a chance to build a brighter and better future within the National Health Service (NHS).
Health care support workers work closely with service users, their families, friends, and carers. You will be essential in ensuring those who use our services have a positive experience and work as part of our dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising nurses, healthcare support workers, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, specialist therapists, and psychiatrists.
The role of Healthcare Support Worker will offer an opportunity to provide career-defining training and challenges; it will offer exposure to a unique and rewarding environment where you will be part of a close-knit team. Subject to availability, right values and performance, there will be opportunities to develop to a band 3 role after gaining experience as well as completing the required competencies.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
As a Healthcare Support Worker you will provide physical and psychological care to service users in accordance with the specified plan of clinical care. You will carry out duties as designated by the person in charge and accurately record patient/service user information. In addition to this, you will provide support to relatives/carers.

Essential
Numeracy and Literacy Skills Level 2 (GCSE grade A - C)
Level 2 Computer Literacy Qualification, e.g. ECDL or equivalent.
