About the role
The role of a Teaching Assistant is vital in the day-to-day running of schools. The best Teaching Assistants have excellent communication skills and are able to build positive working relationships with pupils and staff, quickly and effectively.
Depending on the role and the school, you will be working with the Class Teacher to manage behaviour, support with interventions, and provide additional support to children with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities).
You will assist the class teacher with recording and reporting on pupil progress and behaviour and help ensure that children are making good progress in the classroom.

Vision for Education works with Special Needs schools and alternative provisions across Bridgwater. We are passionate about making a positive impact in education. In partnership with local schools, we are launching our National Teaching Assistant Programme to support aspiring Teaching Assistants.
The Programme
* Provides high-quality training and paid on-the-job experience in partner schools.
* Secures paid placements after successful interviews and checks, with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
* Requires completion of a training programme prior to placement, delivered by Vision for Education and school leaders.

Salary depends on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum requirement is a desire to work with children with SEND.
