As a System Intelligence (SI) Analyst in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB you will learn to shape and analyse data to drive better decision making to support the NHS to deliver the best it can for patients and communities. Your analysis will provide the essential insight to ensure that these decisions are data driven.

Main duties of the job
We're seeking someone who can produce clear, well-presented analysis and reports that highlight findings and insights through effective data visualization and commentary. It requires strong SQL skill, attention to detail, collaborative relationships, and curiosity to understand the problem.
As part of the System Intelligence function you will be:
1. Providing insights on business activity, costs, quality, and performance, presenting information in a consistent, unified format.
2. Supporting the team to produce standardised routine reporting, develop new reports and insights, and complete one-off project analysis.
3. Joining our team at an exciting time as we utilise powerful tools such as Power BI and R to enhance and automate our insight and business intelligence provision.
Job responsibilities
This role provides expert high quality system intelligence primarily to the Performance and Delivery Team. It works in a matrix style across the SI Team to support programmes of work that run across all areas, such as assessing the performance impacts of new service developments and providing valuable insights for planning.
The post holder is a key member of the team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives.

* You can make use of appropriate information to help you analyse a range of common types of problem.
* You work with the requestor of the analysis to understand the underlying question and apply your knowledge to plan the preferred approach to the analysis.
* You can use specific visualisation software to produce basic visualisations, including histograms, bar charts and box plots.
* You understand how geographical data can be displayed to show geographical features.
* You understand the role of descriptive analytics and the difference between this and inferential/predictive analysis.
* You understand the role of evaluative analytics and the evaluation cycle.
* You can use a chosen technology/tool to create or manipulate data sets and create basic visualisations.
* You understand the principles of normal and special cause variation and how data can be presented in SPC charts.
* You understand the role of predictive/prescriptive analytics and their difference from descriptive analytics.

* You understand and can utilise the appropriate media to communicate findings.
