This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy team at Bolton Kidney Care Centre where you will be responsible for coordinating the daily attendance of patients to the Oldham Kidney Care Centre, providing administrative support to the dialysis team, as well as a wide range of clerical duties.
This includes the management of resources, stock, invoices, shift recording, information management, and dealing with patient enquiries.
This is a 37.5 hours post, to be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide general non-clinical advice, information, and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives, and carers.
2. Liaise with secretaries and other healthcare professionals regarding patient referrals and investigations.
3. Obtain and sort results/investigations relevant to anaemia management and transplant work-up and input into appropriate databases.
4. Responsible for the provision of anaemia management including generation and signing of prescriptions according to departmental policy.
5. Co-ordinate the administrative support for the unit to support patient care.
6. Responsible for the provision of holiday dialysis for unit patients both at home and abroad.
7. Participate in any policy/procedure changes and service improvements to ensure smooth running of the service.
8. Highlight potential delays and problems within the service that may impinge on the effective and efficient running of the service.
9. Implement and propose changes to working practices in own area to support service improvement.
10. Attend and participate in staff meetings.
11. Dialysis absence recording using the trusts Datix system.
12. Recording outcomes on Patient Centre/PAS.
13. Live admission, discharge, and transfer (if appropriate) for all daily dialysis patients and all ward attendees.
