Job Summary
As an important part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence Intelligence (DI) provides intelligence analysis, specialist outputs and advice that supports decision making across government. At the heart of DI is the National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI).
NCGI-Technology (NCGI-T) is a joint service and civilian organisation. Its role is to provide Communication Information Services (CIS) support to specialist Geospatial Intelligence, including imagery intelligence and geospatial analysis, to senior policy makers, military commanders, and deployed forces, providing a unique insight into global events not found anywhere else in Government.
We are looking for a motivated, forward thinking, and capable individual to help deliver projects supporting the geospatial community. Working closely with Defence Digital project managers in an Agile setting, you’ll utilise project management techniques, stakeholder and information management to ensure value is delivered.
This role is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
The NCGI-T Delivery Manager role is part of the wider Deliver Team, who are responsible for ensuring that products and services delivered to the end users are fit for use and deliver value to the business. The team is responsible for the development, management, and integration of Defence Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) capability. The primary focus is supporting the coordination and delivery of near-term & future GEOINT capabilities. Responsibilities include but are not but not limited to:
* Support the identification of user and system requirements, including obsolescence issues, for core NCGI GEOINT capability across the enterprise.
* Assist in the prioritisation of high value task and champion continuous improvement and innovation.
* Identify and work with customers including NCGI, capability sponsors, policy makers, intelligence partners, Delivery Teams and contractors to develop, maintain and lead NCGI GEOINT capability requirements.
* Liaise with customers and partners to ensure delivered GEOINT capabilities reflect and satisfy NCGI end user needs.
* Support Programme & Project Management delivery by utilising both traditional and Agile methodologies.
* Assist in project planning, delivery, status reporting, evaluations and document reviews as required.
* Assist in co-ordinating and arranging collaborative meetings, tracking actions and ensuring business value is obtained on time, to required standards and that benefits are realised.
* Establish and respond to feedback mechanisms, removing blockers that affect delivery.
* Actively identify and address risks, issues and dependencies to maintain delivery momentum.
* Facilitate in the sharing of knowledge across the GEOINT community.
* Act as the knowledgeable point of contact and support for NCGI units and Delivery Teams, providing (or ensuring the provision of) business SMEs where necessary.
* Assist in ensuring the effective communication between technical and non-technical roles, help co-ordinate NCGI inputs as necessary.
* Support technical exchange meetings, working groups and manage communications through most appropriate methods.

Person specification
The ideal individual will have good communication skills, both verbal and written as well as strong organisational skills and experience working within a project team. They will be able to communicate complex ideas in an easy-to-understand fashion and demonstrate knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
Possess solid relationship building and networking abilities and stakeholder management skill-sets. Be effective at problem solving with a drive to continuously improve. Have the ability to look across the enterprise to ensure Business priorities are understood and delivered appropriately. Excellent IT skills, including word-processing, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and spreadsheets.
Desirable Qualifications
* PRINCE2, APM, Agile Foundation/Practitioner or equivalent.
* ITIL Service Management Foundation
* SAFe Agile for Teams or Leading SAFe
