Estates Surveyor Start: ASAP Rate: £560 per day Inside IR35 Duration: 3-6 months initially Hybrid Working arrangement: West Midlands Responsibilities To inspect, survey, value, negotiate, report upon and conclude cases allocated to the postholder embracing: - a. Acquisitions (both by Agreement and Under CPO powers). b. Disposals c. Negotiation and processing of leases (renewals/rent reviews), licences, assessment of premiums and service charges To assist in providing strategic advice to other Departments and Members of the Council in respect of the Corporate Estate To deal with enquiries from the general public and advise upon matters concerning appropriate property related issues To prepare evidence for arbitration, independent expert referrals, Valuation Tribunals, Lands Tribunals or Court as directed Requirements Have either passed the final RICS (General Practice Surveying) examination, or have an equivalent degree or diploma giving full exemption from the final professional examination of the RICS Have a thorough knowledge of current legislation and valuation technique affecting acquisitions (by agreement and under CPO powers) disposals (e.g. freehold/leasehold etc) of property interests, landlord and tenant, non-domestic rating and buildings insurance matters.
