Major Crime Unit Civilian Investigator Role:
The post is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team in the Major Crime Unit (MCU) within the public sector.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to undertake investigative work, including interviewing witnesses and suspects, gathering evidence, and providing support to police investigations.
Main Responsibilities:
* To work closely with detectives and other professionals to gather and analyse evidence, identify patterns and trends, and piece together complex cases.
* To conduct thorough and professional interviews with witnesses and suspects, taking detailed statements and recording information accurately.
* To provide support to police officers and detectives, assisting with the investigation of crimes and the preparation of court cases.
* To maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
Requirements:
* Degree level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as law, criminology, or social science.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with witnesses, suspects, and colleagues.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment, prioritising tasks and managing competing deadlines.
Working Arrangements:
The post is a fixed-term contract until January 2026. The hourly rate for this role is £22.31 per hour, and the location is Sleaford, which falls under Inside IR35 pay regulations.
