The Innovation Manager will lead NPD from concept to market, ensuring product innovation and renovation align with business goals. The role involves managing supplier relationships, overseeing recipe development, conducting factory trials and ensuring compliance with culinary trends and regulations. The Innovation Manager is responsible for the NPD stage gate process and maintaining strict quality assurance through product testing. Additionally, the role includes post-launch evaluations and looking at ways to continuously improve NPD processes.
We are looking for proven experience in FMCG food innovation – this experience could have been gained in a specialist innovation role or perhaps a brand management role where innovation has been a major part. It is essential to have strong end-to-end product development experience and a genuine passion for food innovation, nutrition, and market trends. Candidates must also be skilled at managing complex projects, working cross-functionally, and engaging suppliers. Strong organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to handle challenges efficiently are essential. The role also demands analytical thinking, project management expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to be agile and dynamic.
A very collaborative, highly personable approach is key given the Innovation Manager will interact and work closely with many cross-functional teams and external partners. Also, someone with a positive, can-do attitude.
Future career progression could lead to an Innovation Controller role.
