Mechanical Technician (Fitter / Plant / Vehicle / Maintenance)
Location: Henfield, West Sussex
Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE + Overtime + 22 Days Holiday + Company Van (Work Use Only) + Fuel Card + Bank Holidays + Contributory Pension + Health Care Package + Training
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 17:00
A Mechanical Technician is required for a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor. This is a great opportunity for a plant engineer or someone with experience working on vehicles looking to take a step into construction plant. The company offers great training opportunities whilst providing a days-based role.
Candidates will be mechanically biased and hold an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent / above) in a related mechanical subject. Ideally, you will have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics. This role would suit candidates from backgrounds working with plant, HGVs, motor mechanics (car/van), small tools (including garden machinery), or similar.
You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance on all plant machinery, including vehicles and equipment from larger excavators to small plant, tools, and generators.
Working within a team of eight, you will spend around 70% of your time in the workshop and 30% in the field. The company visits client sites throughout the UK; however, the field-based work is predominantly at sites along the southeast coast.
The company can operate on a 24/7 basis, and you may occasionally be asked to work overtime, including weekends.
The Mechanical Technician Role:
1. Mechanical and electrical maintenance repair of plant and associated equipment
2. Maintenance focus - repairs where required
3. 70% workshop based, 30% field based
The Mechanical Technician Person:
1. Mechanical experience - plant, HGVs, motor mechanics (car/van), small tools (including garden machinery) or similar
2. Hold an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
