Purpose of Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Facilities Manager to support the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities.
Job Description
The successful candidate will assist the Facilities Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities, and managing a team of maintenance personnel.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance and repair activities to ensure the facilities' smooth operation. This includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance staff, including training, performance evaluations, and scheduling. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective task execution.
3. Maintain relationships with external contractors and service providers, coordinating their work, and ensuring it aligns with the organization's standards and requirements.
4. Assist the Facilities Manager in developing and managing the facilities' operating budget, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
5. Ensure that the facility adheres to safety and compliance regulations. Identify and address potential hazards and maintain proper records related to safety inspections and procedures.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
1. Relevant certifications in facility management.
2. Experience with sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives.
3. Knowledge of project management principles.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD or other space planning software.
