My client is currently looking for a Head of Corporate Actions in Blackpool to manage a team across 2 locations. The successful candidate would seek to develop and implement a strategy to realise the opportunities for process and control efficiency and effectiveness provided by internal systems and other technical opportunities.
To oversee the monitoring of all new and ongoing Corporate Actions for risk assessment and ensure processes are being met within relevant deadlines and timeframes and in line with all regulatory requirements.
To collate, review and report regular and accurate Management information to relevant parties.
Ensure real-time escalation of any possible operational risks/incidents/errors/complaints to the Head of Operations.
To identify market key issues, upcoming initiatives, tax treatments and regulatory changes that will impact the business.
Oversee processes to ensure that weekly reports are run to review any Income processing issues that would affect a client Clients tax voucher and any Corporate Action processing issues that would affect a client capital gains reporting to ensure optimal client experience.
Ensure that all open Voluntary Corporate Actions are reviewed with an appropriate risk level applied according to value, number of clients and deadlines and reported to key stakeholders contacting the Front Office when no action has been taken.
Identify opportunities in streamlining workflow and improve processing efficiency automation, system development and enhancement, working with internal stakeholders to make changes.
Instil good team ethics and demonstrate accountability for the team's behaviours and performance. To work with the Corporate Actions Manager to ensure that personal, technical and behavioural development of team members ensuring that the team operates cohesively across both locations.
Conduct annual and interim performance reviews including setting of performance goals, within the Firm's timescales.
Agree and monitor holiday, sickness, and any other form of absence from the office. Undertake return to work interviews when appropriate liaise with HR if required.
Encourage and develop colleagues through mentoring, training, coaching, supporting them in their individual plans to develop their knowledge and skills and helping them to remain competent to undertake their role. Share knowledge to the benefit of the team and/or wider business.
They are looking for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, knowledge of Corporate Actions and tax laws/requirements and a good understanding of banking and wealth management regulations.
